Students will be granted access to the class on Canvas after registering for the class here on the YIVO website. This class will be conducted in Yiddish.

Instructor: Daniel Birnbaum

Who should take this course?
This course is for those who took Intermediate IV Yiddish in fall 2021.

What topics will this class cover?
This course will strike a balance between reading texts, improving communication skills, and reviewing relevant grammar. Students will further their abilities by reading and listening to texts of increasing difficulty, discussing these texts in class, and writing short essays. Along the way, we will also practice advanced grammatical topics such as the use and meaning of separable prefixes, the construction of the passive voice, comparative adjectives, and conditional sentences.

Course Materials:
The instructor will provide all course materials, including an advanced Yiddish workbook, literary texts, and recordings, digitally throughout the class on Canvas. It is expected that students have access to one of the modern Yiddish dictionaries.
