What Do We Know? is a concert centered on exploring the human experience through Jewish texts and music. Headlining the program is Daniel Asia, including his Breath In a Ram’s Horn – for voice, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano, Songs of Transcendence for solo guitar, and Why (?) Jacob for solo piano. In addition, the performance will feature Judith Shatin’s Elijah’s Chariot – for string quartet and electronics and Philadelphia young composer and violinist Adah Kaplan's Sh’veekeen, Sh’veeteen: Forgiven, Eradicated for string trio.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.

The Network for New Music, (Philadelphia's "premier new music organization" – The Philadelphia Inquirer) presents passionate, meticulously rehearsed performances of music by emerging and established composers from the United States and abroad. The Network Ensemble is a flexible, 20-member group whose players also perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Opera Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Since its inception in 1984, the Ensemble has presented more than 650 works and recorded four CDs for the Albany and Innova labels.
